What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file placed on your device by a website. Cookies help websites remember your actions and preferences over a period of time. We use cookies and similar technologies such as localStorage to store your cookie consent choice.
Cookies we use
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) with Google Consent Mode v2. No cookies are set until you accept analytics through our cookie banner. When you accept, the following cookies are set:
- _ga — distinguishes unique visitors. Expires after 2 years.
- _ga_G-9W2Q869CEW — maintains session state for GA4. Expires after 2 years.
We do not use advertising cookies, marketing cookies or third-party tracking cookies. We do not share analytics data with any advertising platform.
Google Consent Mode v2
Before you make a choice, Google Consent Mode v2 sends a cookieless ping with all storage set to "denied". This means no personal data is transmitted until you grant analytics storage. When you accept, we update the consent signal to "granted" and GA4 begins collecting anonymised usage data.
How to manage cookies
You can control cookies in several ways:
- Use the Accept and Reject buttons on our cookie consent banner.
- Clear your browser's localStorage for scotlandrenewabledirectory.co.uk to reset your choice.
- Block cookies in your browser settings. This may affect some website functionality.
